The young ladies of Saint Joe&#8217;s practiced,\u00a0 rehearsed, and worked hard in preparation for singing and dancing with the gents from St. Francis. One of the songs we sang together was &#8220;A Hole in the Bucket,&#8221; a spicy, fun tune requiring the gal and the guy to sing parts back and forth to each other. His name was Ed, he was a junior, and I, a mere little freshman, but we\u00a0 had a grand time playing the parts of Dear Willy and Dear Liza.<\/p>\n<p>The concert was followed by the dance, and this upperclassman asked\u00a0<em>me<\/em> to dance with him&#8230; again and again and again.<\/p>\n<p>Well, folks, four years later, and I was the first in the Class of 1965 to be engaged.
