Dr. Johan Erikson<\/strong> is an Associate Professor in SJC’s Sciences Dept.\u00a0 His background is in geology and environmental sciences, with degrees from Dartmouth College and Stanford University.\u00a0 Dr. Erikson\u00a0 has research projects in sedimentary geology and in alpine snow chemistry.\u00a0 His favorite outdoor activities are nordic ski racing and mountain climbing.<\/p>\n Dr. Greg Teegarden<\/strong> is a full Professor in SJC’s\u00a0Sciences Dept.\u00a0 Dr. Teegarden’s background is in oceanography and marine ecology, with an M.S. degree in oceanography from the University of Maine and a PhD. from the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography. His principal research interests are plankton dynamics, harmful algal blooms, and marine food webs. Greg likes outdoor activities, particularly winter camping, and mountain climbing ( left over from being an undergraduate at the University of Colorado).<\/p>\n Dr. Emily Lesher <\/strong>is an Assistant Professor in SJC\u2019s Sciences Dept.\u00a0 She is an environmental chemist who studied at Dartmouth College and Colorado School of Mines.\u00a0 She is particularly interested in the chemistry and transport of elements in both the natural and engineered environments with projects on lead contamination in drinking water and Sebago Lake water and sediment chemistry.\u00a0 She also investigates how chemistry education can involve the local community and is interested in training future science teachers. Dr. Lesher enjoys skiing, running, cooking, and jumping on a trampoline with her two small children.<\/p>\n Dr. Lucas Bernacki\u00a0<\/strong>is an Assistant Professor in SJC’s Sciences Dept. His scholarly interests are in landscape genetics, molecular ecology, species conservation and management, invasive species ecology, and molecular evolution. He teaches\u00a0Introduction to Biology, Ecology, Seminar and Research Thesis, Genetics, and Evolution.<\/p>\n Rebecca Barulli is currently in the class of 2020 and double majoring in Marine and Environmental Science with minors in Biology and Sustainability. Rebecca is from Tyngsboro, MA and enjoys swimming and being a CASE Scholar. She is an eco-manager of the EcoReps club on campus. She enjoys working in the school\u2019s Freight Farm on campus and is looking to work in the field of Marine Biology research or environmental science research after graduating.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Jarrett Beaulier<\/b> is a member of the Class of 2020 at Saint Joseph\u2019s College. He is double majoring in Environmental Science and Biology. Jarrett is from Nashville Plantation, Maine and is an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He hopes to use his degrees to work in the wildlife biology field.<\/span><\/p>\n Elyse Caiazzo<\/b> is the teaching assistant, working with the faculty during the duration of the trip. Elyse is a recent alumnus from Saint Joseph\u2019s College, graduating with a degree in Environmental Science and Political Science. Residing in Portland, Maine, she plans to open a farm in South Portland, Maine and pursue a career in Agricultural public policy. She enjoys hiking, yoga, gardening, and being with family.<\/span><\/p>\n Shaylee Davis<\/b> is 19 years old, class of 2021 studying Environmental Science at Saint Joseph\u2019s College. She lives with my boyfriend in Cornish, Maine. She has two older brothers and her dog is her best friend. Drawing, painting, and photography are her hobbies. Shaylee loves walking, rock-climbing, fishing, and pretty much anything outdoors and anything that keeps her busy. After graduating, she would like to get into water-toxicology where she\u2019d test different drinking water supplies and evaluate what can be done to fix it if there\u2019s a problem.<\/span><\/p>\n Caleb Gravel<\/b> is from Rochester, NH and is in the class of 2019 at St. Joe\u2019s. He is majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in Sustainability Studies and Biology. He is an eco-Manager of the EcoReps club on campus and enjoys doing any outside activities such as hiking, kayaking, and fishing. He also loves baseball and is the spoons champ on the trip.<\/span><\/p>\n Kaitlynn Hutchins <\/b>of Westbrook, ME is double majoring in history and physical science with plans of becoming a high school teacher. She is also minoring in fine arts and loves photography. She enjoys being outdoors and traveling and was inspired to pursue the sciences after participating in Saint Joseph\u2019s Spring Geology course where she got to fly out west to do field work in the Grand Canyon.<\/p>\n Rebecca Regan <\/b>is part of the class of 2020 studying Marine Science at Saint Joseph\u2019s College. She is from Annapolis, Maryland and enjoys every aspect the outdoors has to offer. Her favorite pass time is hanging out with her dogs and hiking with friends. Some of Becca\u2019s hobbies include baking, photography, and soccer. <\/span><\/p>\n Danielle Martin<\/strong> is currently a Sophomore studying Marine Science at Saint Joseph\u2019s College. She is from Rochester, NH and she enjoys being at the beach whether it be a lake or ocean. Danielle also enjoys camping, hanging out with friends, and going on spontaneous adventures. Danielle hopes to work at a rehabilitation center for marine life.<\/p>\n Joe O’Reilly<\/strong> is a Junior at Saint Joe’s as a Marine Science Major and a part of the SJC Lacrosse team.\u00a0He enjoys being by the water any chance he gets whether fishing or hiking to get that amazing view at the top.\u00a0 He is currently the reigning Yahtzee champion on the trip.<\/p>\n Avery Liotta-Henderson<\/strong> is a Sophomore at Saint Joseph’s College as a\u00a0double major in Environmental Science and Chemistry. He is a member of the Track and Field team and Cross-Country team. He works at the school’s cafe as a server and really likes his job. He dreams of finding cures for rare diseases.<\/p>\n Tyler Allen<\/strong> is a Junior studying Environmental Science at Saint Joseph’s College. He is from Gorham Maine and is an avid fresh and saltwater fisherman of many species, primarily bass. He is almost always on the water trying to catch something.<\/p>\n Jessica Selva<\/strong> is a Senior at Saint Joseph’s College studying Environmental Science.\u00a0 She is originally from Upstate NY but enjoys living in Maine much more.\u00a0 She enjoys being\u00a0at the beach, going to yard sales and spending time with her dog.\u00a0 After she graduates she hopes to be able to use her degree in the rail transportation industry.<\/p>\n Leia Berube<\/strong> is a Junior at Saint Joseph’s College studying \u00a0Environmental Science with a minor in Sustainability. She is also part of SJC Swim team.\u00a0Since she only has two more years left of college she is thinking about attending graduate school somewhere in the west. Leia loves traveling around the world and hanging out with friends and family.<\/p>\n Olivia Marable<\/strong> is currently a Junior studying Marine Science at Saint Joseph\u2019s College. She is from Buffalo, NY and is the SJC swim team manager. Olivia enjoys going to concerts, photography, urban exploration, and hanging out with friends. She loves to travel and in the future, Olivia hopes to work at a rehabilitation center for marine life.<\/p>\n Ben Poisson<\/strong> is currently\u00a0a Junior at St. Joe’s as an Environmental Science Major with a minor in Chemistry. He enjoys mountain biking, fly fishing, and pretty much anything outdoors. Ben hopes to join the Peace Corps after his time at St. Joe’s.<\/p>\n Emma Mills<\/strong> is a Sophmore at Saint Joseph’s College studying Marine Biology. She is also part of the SJC fieldhockey team. She is from Westport Ma and loves taking pictures. She is always by the water and climbing on the rocks for the amazing views.<\/p>\n Andrew Merlino<\/strong>\u00a0is the teaching assistant, working with the faculty during the duration of the trip.\u00a0 Andrew is a recent alumnus from Saint Joseph\u2019s College, graduating with a degree in Marine\u00a0Science. He\u00a0is a veteran of the first ESS in 2014 and is interested in persuing a career in aquaculture.
