Every year, the auction is organized by Will Sanborn ’86, the College’s head baseball coach, and his wife, Lynn Brown, senior director for Saint Joseph’s student success initiatives. The event is strongly supported by Saint Joseph’s baseball alumni, parents, family, and friends of the program. The 2016 auction was the largest auction ever, with more than 220 items and 325 supporters in attendance, raising over $26,000 for the program. Former Saint Joseph’s outfielder Nick Mirabello served as the auctioneer, and President Dr. Jim Dlugos spoke about the importance of the SJC baseball family to the College. The auction featured sports memorabilia, vacation packages, tickets to sporting events and concerts, home goods, and much more.

“Our Hot Stove Auction has become a real tradition at the College and in the surrounding community,” says Coach Sanborn. “Our parent group and alumni were amazing with their donations, attendance at the event, and bidding for items. Our team is truly blessed to have such great support.”
