SAINT JOSEPH’S COLLEGE IS GOING
We’re excited to announce that Saint Joseph’s College will soon move its email and calendar platform from Microsoft Outlook to Gmail and Google Apps. With Google Apps, we’ll gain the benefits of a robust and innovative feature set, the ability to access email and calendar services from any Internet-connected device, much more storage capacity, and lower infrastructure and support costs. Additionally, Google Apps for Education is a powerful collaboration platform with ability to change the way we teach, learn, and interact.
What’s more, Google Apps is easy to use, and we think you’ll find it to be a more efficient way to manage your email and calendar!
In the coming months you’ll receive additional announcements as we prepare for moving our Outlook accounts to Gmail. But don’t worry, you won’t lose important data, and your email address won’t change!

Pinning Discussion Threads
The discussion forum can be a confusing place for many students. Sometimes finding the instructor’s discussion question can be a daunting task, as it could be buried amongst the sea of postings from other students. My Just(in) time training video this month focuses on pinning your discussion threads so that your discussion questions will always be at the top of the forum. This will allow students to see the discussion question easily, without having to scroll through a long list of postings from their fellow students. Instructional Designer in CIDET
Jesse joined the CIDET team on May 6th and comes to us from Student Support where he worked for five years as an academic advisor/trainer. Prior to this, Jesse worked as an admissions counselor at Maine College of Art and a full-time writing teacher at Brewster Academy. A Maine native, Jesse completed his undergraduate studies at Colby-Sawyer College and received his Master of Fine Arts in writing from Goddard College.
As an instructional designer, Jesse will assist faculty with the development of online courses that are visually and pedagogically dynamic, and he looks forward to being a part of the continued success of Saint Joseph’s College, its faculty, and students.
Jesse lives in Brownfield with his cat, Oscar, and enjoys making art in his spare time.
