The Second Annual Faculty Conference on Teaching and Learning

Another Faculty Conference has come and gone! This year’s conference included breakout sessions covering a variety of topics such as Advising Task Force Findings, Recognizing and Supporting Military Students, Utilizing LiveBinders in the Classroom, Turnitin as a Teaching Tool, Term Brightspace Training, Gamification in Higher Learning, Educational Vision of Catherine McAuley, and so much more! Departmental meetings were also held throughout the conference, allowing faculty and staff to reconnect and prepare for the year ahead.

A huge thank you goes out to the Faculty Conference Planning Committee members, including: Dr. Chris Callaway, Dr. Carmina Chapp, Helen Hall, John Hufstader, June Irvine, Suzanne Murphy, Dr. Suzan Nelson and Dr. Marion Young.

Turnitin Integration Changes

With the July update to Brightspace, Desire2Learn included some various changes for the Turnitin dropbox integration in Brightspace. Faculty can now easily view the various options for enabling Turnitin for their dropboxes in their courses by clicking on the “Turnitin” tab in the dropbox edit/creation screen.
